Cannabis is already a recognised treatment for Multiple Sclerosis and there is every indication that it may be equally beneficial in the treatment of Motor Neurone Disease (MND).
However, medicinal cannabis is currently only legally available in the UK in the form of the licensed drug “Sativex”, and can only be obtained for MND via private prescription at a vastly inflated price.
The many beneficial effects of cannabis for sufferers of MND incude: neuroprotectant, anti-oxidant, appetite stimulant, analgesic and anti-inflammatory.
Copious research demonstrates that despite anti-cannabis legislation and propaganda, cannabis is safe and risk free.
MND is a fatal neurodegenerative condition for which therapeutic options remain highly limited.
It is imperative that sufferers of MND are given access to cannabis as a treatment option in the control and management of their disease.
